1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RentEase("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. The Service is provided by RentEase and is intended for use by property owners, property managers, and tenants in India.

2. Description of Service

RentEase is a property management platform that provides tools for rent collection, tenant verification (KYC), rental agreement generation, and WhatsApp-based automation. The Service is available as a mobile application and web platform.

3. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
  • One person may not maintain more than one account.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Subscription Plans and Payment

  • The Free plan provides limited features at no cost and is available indefinitely.
  • Pro and Portfolio plans are billed monthly. Prices are displayed in Indian Rupees (INR).
  • A platform fee of 0.5% applies to rent collected via UPI payment links (0% for Portfolio).
  • We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days advance notice.
  • Refunds are available within 7 days of your first payment.

5. User Responsibilities

  • Ensure all property and tenant information entered is accurate and up to date.
  • Obtain proper consent from tenants before initiating KYC verification.
  • Comply with all applicable Indian laws regarding rental agreements and tenant rights.
  • Not use the Service for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose.
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the Service.

6. KYC and Verification

Tenant KYC verification is performed through our integration with Cashfree Identity. By initiating KYC, you confirm that you have obtained the tenant's explicit consent as required by the DPDP Act 2023. Verification results are provided "as-is" from government databases and RentEase is not responsible for data accuracy from these sources.

7. Payment Processing

Rent collection via UPI is facilitated through Cashfree Payments. RentEase acts as an intermediary and is not a payment institution. Payment disputes should be raised with us within 30 days. We will work with the payment provider to resolve disputes in a timely manner.

8. Limitation of Liability

RentEaseis provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your data will be handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
